Sydney Institute of Marine Science Secures Funding Through Cbp2021

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Speaker I want to congratulate the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, based locally at Mosman, for their successful application and well-deserved funding through the Community Building Partnership program 2021. Over the last few months, the Sydney Institute of Marine science team has been busy working on different research projects that continuously positively impact our environment, particularly here in Sydney Harbour, the crown jewel of Sydney's waterways and marine life. The Living Seawalls project is one of the many research projects conducted by SIMS and focused on creating more habitats for marine life by installing panels along Sydney Harbour. The funding through the CBP2021 will help increase outreach capacity at the Sydney Institute of Marine Science. Minor internal works for the SIMS teaching laboratory, upgrades to existing AV systems and the purchase of teaching equipment will be supported through this funding. Well done to CEO Professor Martina Doblin and General Manager Mark Scognamiglio and the team in securing this well-deserved funding. I wish the SIMS team all the best with their continued research and projects.
