Mosman Art Prize Returns in Its 75th Year

Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—Speaker, I want to recognise the 2022 Mosman Art Prize which recently took place at the Mosman Art Gallery from the 27th of August to the 2nd of October. The Mosman Art Prize is Australia's oldest and most prestigious local government art award, and this year marks the 75th anniversary of the award, having been established in 1947. Congratulations to the Mosman Art Gallery on the 75th anniversary of this initiative, what a remarkable achievement. I congratulate the 2022 Winner, Jacobus Capone, the Margaret Olley Commendation Award Winner Dianne Tchumut, the Allan Gamble Award Winner Eliza Goss, and the Guy Warren Emerging Artists' Award Winner Sebastian Galloway. I want to thank the Mosman Art Gallery, led by Director John Cheeseman, for returning this wonderful event to our local community for another year, and bringing together some of the best artistic talent in the country to our area. I also thank the 2022 Judge of the Mosman Art Prize, Rhana Devenport ONZM, who is the first female director of the Art Gallery of South Australia for your time in supporting this event.
