Rotary Club of North Sydney

I commend the Rotary Club of North Sydney for all its incredible work for our community, especially navigating the challenges of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions. The club has had a successful year of fundraising and charitable activities and has supported many local organisations, such as Mary's House, which supports women and children fleeing domestic violence, and Phoenix House, which supports young people who have additional needs. This year it assisted at D-Caf meetings for people with dementia and with morning teas every month at the Crows Nest Centre. The club ran the Christmas barbecue for the residents of our major public housing estate, Greenway in Kirribilli, and the Tree of Joy project, gathering thousands of gifts to distribute to those in need. It sponsored local students to attend the National Youth Science Forum and the Model United Nations Assembly. I thank and acknowledge the newly re-elected president, Toni Field, OAM, who will continue the outstanding work she has done in the past. I thank also Ross Waugh, Denis Booth, Peter Fitzgerald, JiJi and Sam Lee, Peter Lulic, John Taylor, David Field, Mal Sharpe and all the club members for their continuing service and compassion for those in need.
