North Sydney Young Writers' Award 2023

—I acknowledge the talented young writers' from my electorate of North Shore who were recently recognised for their exceptional writing skills at the annual North Sydney Young Writers' Award, officially the Nan Manefield Writers' Award. This year marked thirty-four years of Stanton Library and North Sydney Council celebrating the writing talent of young people in our community. Young people aged 11 to 18 years old are invited to submit either one poem or one short story not exceeding 750 words. I congratulate the winners of this year's competition Ethan Li, Andy Elias, Catherine Grice, Anthony Li, and Angus Koch. I also congratulate those who were recognised as highly commended, Amadea Luong, Cameron Masters, Oliver Macalister, Angelina Mei, Jimin Jeon, Adrita Saha, Amelie Elias, Thehashi Upsara Gunawardene, Chloe Lu, and Elaine Chen. Congratulations to you all. I acknowledge the judges of this year's competition who had the arduous task of judging over five hundred entries across five age categories. Thank you to Erin Gough, Ursula Dubosarsky, Tim Sinclair, Will Kostakis, and Sue Whiting. Congratulations to all involved on another successful North Sydney Young Writers' Award.
