North Sydney Art Prize

—I acknowledge the opening of the biennial North Sydney Art Prize, inviting artists from across the nation to demonstrate creative genius and artistic capabilities. The theme of this event is to draw inspiration from sustainability and innovative environmental practices which are displayed at the Coal Loader site, where the finalists' artworks will be exhibited. This year, there is over $35,000 in prize money, divided over six categories. I am so excited for this exhibition as I know that it will bring in the finest artists from across Australia. This competition is an gathering of varying art styles and mediums, coming together to create a myriad of stunning art works inspired by sustainable technologies and innovation. As we know the Coal Loader site was transformed from an industrial area to a green space for the community to enjoy, showcasing new technologies, native bush nurseries and community gardens. Finalist artworks will be displayed throughout the Coal Loader site, including underground tunnels and chambers. I wish all submitting artists the best of luck and I look forward to seeing the finalist displays next year.
