Ms FELICITY WILSON (North Shore)

—I would like to congratulate world-renowned pathologist Anthony Gill from Royal North Shore Hospital who was awarded pathologist of the year. This award is the highest accolade for cancer research at the NSW Premier's Awards for outstanding cancer research, which is testament to his brilliant work and findings that have helped innumerable amounts of people. Currently, Anthony is a professor of surgical pathology at the University of Sydney and a senior staff specialist in anatomical pathology at the Royal North Shore hospital. The level of Anthony's work speaks for itself and is recognised due to the number of achievements and awards he has received and the impact in particular on hereditary cancer not only here in New South Wales, but around the world. Anthony is also known for his research in pancreatic cancer, as well as discovering new types of cancer tumours, helping improve early diagnosis and survival rates. I congratulate Anthony on this incredible achievement, it is well-deserved and a wonderful recognition for his substantial contributions to cancer studies.
